- The Duquesne University men's soccer team returns home to Rooney Field for its next two matches, beginning Tuesday with a 7:00 p.m. non-conference tilt with Mount St. Mary's.

- In wrapping up a three-game road trip, the Dukes opened their Atlantic 10 slate with a
1-0 win at George Washington. Senior forward
Maxi Hopfer scored the lone goal of the contest just over five minutes into action.

- Senior goalkeeper
Zoltan Nagy picked up his third shutout of the 2024 season in the win over the Revolutionaries, posting three saves in the victory. In two seasons on the Bluff, Nagy has registered five clean sheets.

- Duquesne closed its three-game road trip with a record of 1-1-1 (.500), suffering its first loss of the 2024 season with a
3-0 setback at Robert Morris at the North Athletic Complex. The Colonials scored three times in the span of five-and-a-half minutes to secure the victory.

- The Dukes opened their road swing with a
1-1 draw at No. 23 Notre Dame. The Fighting Irish led, 1-0, before a late penalty kick was awarded to junior forward
Dakota Jonke, who scored from the spot to garner the tie.

- Senior goalkeeper
Zoltan Nagy matched a season high in saves with seven at Notre Dame. A two-time Atlantic 10 Defensive Player of the Week, Nagy has faced 65 shots over the last four matches, including 27 on goal.

- In their last home match, the Dukes earned a
1-0 victory over Niagara. It marked the sixth consecutive victory at Rooney Field dating back to the 2023 campaign.

- A total of nine Dukes have registered a point through the first seven games of the 2024 season, with redshirt sophomore
Jaxon Ervin owning a team-high seven courtesy of two goals and three assists. Ervin is tied for fourth in the Atlantic 10 in scoring.

- Duquesne is led by head coach
Chase Brooks, who is in his 12th season leading the program in 2024. Brooks has posted a record of 82-84-26 (.495) on the sidelines for the Dukes. Thanks to a season-opening win over Seton Hill, Brooks picked up his 100th career victory as a head coach.

- Senior forward
Maxi Hopfer was named to the 2024 All-Atlantic 10 Preseason Team at forward in a vote of league head coaches. In his last full season in 2022, Hopfer was named to the All-Atlantic 10 Second Team after finishing with 14 points thanks to five goals and four assists. In 2021, Hopfer found the back of the net 11 times and also distributed six assists in finishing with 28 points to earn a spot on the All-Atlantic 10 First Team.

- Duquesne returns to Atlantic 10 action after hosting Mount St. Mary's Tuesday, welcoming Saint Joseph's Saturday, Sept. 28, for a 5:00 p.m. match.

Scouting the Mount – Member of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) … Located in Emmitsburg, Md. … Mount St. Mary's owns an overall record of 0-5-2 (.143) entering Tuesday's match and is coming off a 2-1 setback to No. 21 James Madison (Sept. 17) at Waldron Family Stadium that concluded a two-match homestand … The Mount opened their homestand with a 1-1 tie against Longwood (Sept. 14) … Mount St. Mary's is under the guidance of Brett Teach, who was named head coach of the program Dec. 1, 2023 … Teach was an assistant at VCU since 2010 prior to being named the head coach of the Mount but he has served as head coach at LaGrange (1989), Oglethorpe (1990-93), Georgia State (2000-06), Auburn University Montgomery (2001-06) and Tusculum (2007-09) … Abou Cherif, Junee Lee and Dominik Topolsky each have scored four points for Mount St. Mary's, with Cherif and Lee each having scored two goals and Topolsky owning a goal and two assists … Tuesday marks the first meeting between Mount St. Mary's and Duquesne.

One More – Thanks to a 1-0 victory at George Washington, head coach
Chase Brooks picked up his 82nd victory as head coach of the Dukes. That ties Wade Jean for the most wins in program history as a head coach, as Jean finished 82-54-15 (.593) in eight seasons on the Bluff from 1998 to 2005. The next win for Brooks will give him the most wins all-time by a head coach at Duquesne.

The End Game – Behind a solid defense is a solid goalkeeper, and senior
Zoltan Nagy has been a rock for Duquesne this season. Nagy is tied for the Atlantic 10 lead in saves (31) with Nicholas Pucci of St. Bonaventure while also ranking second in saves per game (4.43), save percentage (.838) and shutouts (3). Thanks to his third shutout of the campaign in a 1-0 win at George Washington, Nagy also lowered his goals against average under 1.00 again for the year as he sits fourth in the A-10 at 0.92.

One – Thanks to a 1-0 victory at George Washington that helped Duquesne improve to 16-9-5 (.617) all-time in Atlantic 10 openers, including 5-4-1 (.550) on the road, the Dukes improved to 25-8 (.758) in one-goal matches since the beginning of the 2021 season. Included in that stretch is a 14-3 (.824) record in such games at Rooney Field and a 11-5 (.688) mark on the road.

A Milestone – Senior forward
Maxi Hopfer became the ninth Duquesne student-athlete in program history to reach 50 career points in a 1-0 win at Xavier, as his assist on the game-winning goal by redshirt sophomore
Jaxon Ervin helped him reach the threshold. Hopfer currently ranks seventh all-time for the Dukes in scoring with 52 points, five points behind Steve Mellor, who scored 57 points from 2002 to 2005.
