PITTSBURGH -- The Duquesne University football team is receiving votes in the Stats Perform FCS Preseason Top 25 Poll and the AFCA FCS Coaches Poll, presented by Hudl.
The Dukes, who received eight votes in the Stats Perform poll and seven in the coaches' poll, are represented in the national preseason polls for the first time since 2018.
Duquesne, the preseason favorite in the Northeast Conference, is coming off its sixth NEC title and third FCS playoff appearance in program history in 2023.
Defending back-to-back national champion South Dakota State is the unanimous preseason No. 1 team in FCS football. Duquesne is the lone NEC program recognized in the polls. For the full rankings, visit the links below.
The Dukes begin the 2024 season with three straight road games (Aug. 29 at Toledo, Sept. 7 at Boston College, Sept. 14 at Youngstown State) before taking on West Virginia Wesleyan for their home opener on September 21. Northeast Conference play begins October 5 at Rooney Field as DU hosts LIU on Homecoming and Family Weekend.
