Miamisburg, Ohio – The Duquesne University men's tennis team began a three-match road swing, falling to Saint Louis, 4-2 on Thursday morning at the South Regency Tennis Center in Miamisburg, Ohio. With the slip, the Dukes drop to 7-9 overall this spring, behind a 1-3 mark in league play.

During doubles competition, the Billikens would take two of the three matches to secure an early point in the match. Seniors Kaipo Marshall and Tamirlan Teberikov fell by a 7-6 (7-5) count to Theo Ortis and Andres Castellanos while graduate student Jin Dassanayake and senior Bode Vance dropped a 6-2 decision to Adam Behun and Declan Townsend at the second spot. At the final doubles, sophomores Keita Duclos and Alfrendo Vogelaar secured a 6-0 sweep over Valentin Vasquez and Jonathan Sadowski for the Dukes.

In singles competition, Duquesne would capture wins in the first two slots before Saint Louis rattled off three victories to claim the match. Marshall recorded a 6-2, 6-1 victory over Luca Lo Nardo before Teberikov collected a 6-3, 6-2 win over Castellanos. At third singles, Duclos fell to Townsend, 3-6, 6-2, 2-6 before Vogelaar dropped a 6-2, 6-4 match to Ortis at the four spot. Dassanayake's match would be recorded unfinished at fifth singles while Vance was clipped by Vasquez, 6-1, 6-1.

The Dukes are back in action tomorrow, Friday, April 12, when they take on the host Dayton at 1:00 p.m. at the South Regency Tennis Center.
