- The Duquesne University women's golf team continues its 2024 fall season Monday, Oct. 7, and Tuesday, Oct. 8, with the Red Flash Invitational in Westmont, Pa., at Sunnehanna Country Club.
 
- The Dukes are coming off a finish of seventh place out of 13 teams at the Roseann Schwartz Invitational, which was hosted by Youngstown State at Millcreek Golf Course in Boardman, Ohio. Over 36 holes, Duquesne finished with a score of 625.
 
- Freshman Sasha Petrochko claimed her second consecutive top 10 finish individually to open her NCAA Division I career at the Roseann Schwartz Invite, carding a 146 (+2) to tie for seventh with Megha Vallabhaneni of Western Michigan. Petrochko opened the tournament with a 72 (E) before closing with a 74 (+2) in the second round.
 
- Thanks to her performance at the Roseann Schwartz Invitational, not only did freshman Sasha Petrochko earn her second straight Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week accolade, but she was also tabbed the Atlantic 10 Golfer of the Week. In sweeping the weekly awards, Petrochko claimed her first career A-10 Golfer of the Week plaudit.
 
- Junior Lindsey Powanda registered her first top 20 finish at the Roseann Schwartz Invitational, finishing in four-way tie for 16th over 36 holes at 151 (+7). In the second round, Powanda closed at even par (72), posting four birdies over the course of the round.
 
- The Dukes competed in their first tournament as an NCAA Division I program by finishing eighth out of 13 teams at the Bucknell Fall Invitational. Duquesne fired a 944 over the course of three rounds and 54 holes, falling just nine strokes shy of a top five finish.
 
- Freshman Sasha Petrochko opened her NCAA Division I career at the Bucknell Fall Invitational with a top 10 finish individually, carding a 223 (+13). She opened with a 76, finished with an even par 70 in the second round and closed with a 77. For her efforts, Petrochko was named the first Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week of the 2024-25 season.
 
- Women's golf was added in April of 2022 at Duquesne along with triathlon and acrobatics & tumbling. Triathlon made its debut during the 2023-24 season, with women's golf and acro & tumbling beginning competition this season.
 
- Tabbed as the first head coach in program history is Colleen Meyers, who was selected to lead Duquesne in August of 2023. She spent two seasons as an assistant coach with Carnegie Mellon from 2021 to 2023 and also was the head coach at Oakland Catholic High School from 2015 to 2023.
 
- Sewickley Heights Golf Club serves as the home of Duquesne golf, it was announced in February. Founded in 1961, the course is used for practice for the program and has also hosted the United States Women's Amateur in 1966 and the Champion's Pittsburgh Senior Classic in 1998.
 
- Meyers signed a pair of student-athletes in November of 2023 in Sasha Petrochko and Lindsey Powanda, then added four more in the spring of 2024 with Katie Caryl, Katie Fodale, Paige Meyers and Abby Slankster to round out the roster. Each of the six made their NCAA Division I debut at the Bucknell Fall Invitational.
 
- The field for the 2024 Red Flash Invitational includes 10 teams. As well as the Dukes, Bucknell, La Salle, Mercyhurst, Monmouth, Mount St. Mary's, Purdue Fort Wayne, host Saint Francis U, Saint Joseph's and Youngstown State will compete. The Bison and Red Flash have taken part in each of the first three tournaments Duquesne has competed in during the 2024-25 season.
 
- Of the six student-athletes that make up the roster for Duquesne in 2024-25, five are rookies and one is a junior. Lindsey Powanda is a transfer from Pitt, where she did not compete in golf, and will have three years of eligibility. She claimed the 2020 Western Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic League (WPIAL) crown and also notched a pair of top 10 finishes at the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association (PIAA) championships.
 
- The Red Flash Invitational is the third of four events the Dukes will compete in this fall. Duquesne wrap up its fall season Monday, Oct. 21, and Tuesday, Oct. 22, at the UNCG Collegiate after play concludes Tuesday.
