PITTSBURGH -- The Duquesne University men's and women's cross country teams competed at the Carnegie Mellon University Invitational on Saturday at Schenley Park in Pittsburgh.

MEN'S RESULTS
Maggie Danzer, a junior out of Clarence, N.Y., paced the Dukes with a 9th place finish out of 125 runners in the women's race recording a time of 19:19.4.
Freshmen
Ava Brewster (16th - 19:34.3) and
Lily Colombo (22nd - 19:52.2) followed. Sophomore
Cydney Blahovec charted a 19:54.4 - the fastest 5k time of her young career - in 26th and
Reagan Ryen rounded out the scorers with a 20:31.5 in 42nd.
First year
Sam Freedman led the Duquesne men with a 26:44.1 in 23rd place out of 132. Fellow freshmen
Ethan Warner (27:49.6) and
Josh Wagner (27:50.1) crossed the line in 53rd and 55th, respectively.Â
Holden Eagle (29:10.5 - 78th) and
Joseph Wigginton (29:28.2 - 83rd) completed the DU competitors on the men's side.
The Duquesne women took fourth and the men placed 11th in the 16-team fields.Â
UP NEXT
Duquesne will be back in action next weekend with a trip to the University of Virginia for the Panorama Farms Invitational on October 19.
