YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- The Duquesne men's tennis team lost its second match of the spring season to Youngstown State on the road Friday, losing 7-0.
In doubles, senior
Jin Dassanayake and junior
Bode Vance dropped a hard-fought match by the score of 6-4, then freshman
Valentin Vasquez and freshman
Keita Duclos fell in their match 6-3. Graduate student
David Georgadze and junior
Tamirlan Teberikov were tied in their match as the No. 1 pairing, but they were not able to finish.
In singles, Georgadze dropped his match as the No. 1 7-6 (7-4), 6-4. Vasquez fought hard as the No. 5, but also fell by the score of 2-6, 7-5, 1-0 (10-5). In the No. 6 matchup, redshirt sophomore
Liam Wickwire narrowly lost the first set 7-6 (7-2) before dropping the second set 6-4.
The men's team won't have to wait long to bounce back as it hosts St. Francis - Brooklyn tomorrow evening.
