NEWPORT NEWS, Va. -- Duquesne freshman midfielder Chelsea Evans has been named the Atlantic 10 Lacrosse Rookie of the Week, as announced by the conference Monday night. This is the first weekly honor of her career.

With not even a half-dozen games under her belt, Evans has already established herself as one of Duquesne's most productive players as a freshman. In Friday's 16-13 win at Youngstown State, Evans scored a career-high four goals and added a ground ball plus a draw control. 

Including Monday's game against Stetson, Evans ranks third on the team with 10 goals and 12 points. She also ranks second on the team with 12 ground balls and has the third-most draw controls (6). 

Evans and the Dukes will be back in action on March 7 when they host Central Michigan.
