WASHINGTON, D.C. - Duquesne's
Chloe Wilmot has been named the Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week for the third time this season, announced by the conference office this afternoon.
Wilmot posted her seventh double-double of her freshman campaign on Friday with 43 assists and an early career-best 18 digs. The Alexandria, Va. native followed her double-double with a match-high 39 assists along with nine digs and a pair of blocks in the three-set sweep over George Washington Saturday. Wilmot's 10.25 assists per set were fourth-best in the conference for the week. On the season, Wilmot is the A-10 leader and ranks 22nd in Division I in assists per set at 10.56.
Duquesne has now had five of the eight Rookie of the Weeks in the A-10 this season, as Wilmot also earned the honor on August 29 and September 25, then
Avery Hobson got the award last week and on September 5. Mary Henry (2012) has the DU rookie record, when she collected five Rookie of the Week honors.
The Dukes are in the heart of conference play and battling in the middle of the standings, currently in a four-way tie for fourth at 4-5. Duquesne returns home this weekend to host Rhode Island for a Friday-Saturday doubleheader. First serves are scheduled for 6 pm Friday and 4 pm on Saturday, a part of Homecoming and Family Weekend on the Bluff.
