WASHINGTON, D.C. - Duquesne's Cydney Blahovec has been selected as the Atlantic 10 Conference Rookie of the Week, announced by the league office this afternoon.

Blahovec led the Dukes to a runner-up finish at the Carnegie Mellon Invitational on Saturday at Schenley Park with a ninth place finish out of 77 runners, crossing the line in 20:04.4.

This is the first weekly honor for a Duquesne runner this season.

The Dukes have been team runner-ups in back-to-back meets and won their first meet of the season at Saint Francis. Blahovec and the team return to the course for their third-straight weekend of competition on Friday at Bowling Green.
