PITTSBURGH – The Duquesne University women's tennis team dropped its second-straight match to Toledo on Saturday night, 6-1, at the Alpha Tennis and Fitness Center.
Duquesne moves to 0-2 while Toledo improves to 4-1.
Freshman
Jasa Roka won her second-straight match to improve to 2-0 at the collegiate level. She won her match as the No. 5, 4-6, 7-5, 10-2.
Toledo took the early doubles point, earnign wins in the No. 1 and 3 slots before Kotsyuba and Shanahan were able to finish. They were locked into a tight match before it ended, trailing 6-5.
In singles, Duquesne's No. 1-4 dropped their matches. Shanahan took Mariona Perez of Toledo all the way to the edge, losing 2-6, 6-0, 10-7.
The Dukes will be back in action next weekend when they on Carnegie Mellon on Friday and St. Francis - Brooklyn on Saturday.
