AUSTIN, Texas – Recent Duquesne University graduate
Hanna Everhart (Bloomsburg, Pa. / Bloomsburg Area) was named a Second Team College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-America® selection announced the organization Wednesday afternoon.
Everhart is the first-ever Duquesne Swimming & Diving student-athlete to receive the distinction – considered to be the most prestigious academic award in collegiate athletics. The two-time CoSIDA Academic All-District® honoree is a 4.0 Physician Assistant Studies major and was also a two-time Atlantic 10 All-Academic Team selection.
Everhart was a three-time A-10 Champion in the 200-yard freestyle and was a member of the champion 800-yard freestyle relay team that set a new conference record. She also took fourth place in the 100-yard free and was a member of the bronze medal 400-yard freestyle relay team at A-10 Championships.
Everhart also added to the team point total as a member of the fourth-place 200-yard free relay team that established a school record and the fifth place 400-yard medley relay team.
The 2022 Academic All-America® At-Large Teams, selected by CoSIDA, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in their sport and in the classroom.
The CoSIDA Academic All-America teams include student-athletes from all eight geographic districts across the United States and Canada. The teams include NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II and NCAA Division III participants, while the College Division Academic All-America Team combines NAIA, Canadian and two-year schools.
Everhart is the third Duquesne student-athlete to earn a CoSIDA Academic All-America® nod this academic year, joining Jake Dixon and Spencer DeMedal, who were selected to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® Football team this past December.
