PITTSBURGH - The Duquesne University men's tennis team picked up a 5-2 win over Mercyhurst (D2) Saturday afternoon on Senior Day at the Alpha.
The Dukes (7-7) won all three doubles matchups with the Lakers (7-8) to take an early lead, before clinching the match with a three-set battle at No. 2 singles.

Joey Matthews picked up the first wins in singles play. Mascioli got things started with a dominant 6-0, 6-1 win at No. 3 singles, before
Joey Matthews added a 6-2, 6-3 win to the Duquesne victory column.
Alejandro Rodriguez-Vidal earned a hard-fought 6-2, 4-6, 7-6 (10-7) win at No. 2 singles that clinched the match.
Jin Dassanayake tacked on another point with a 6-2, 7-5 win at No. 4 singles to push the Duquesne lead to 5-0 at the time.
Prior to the match, the Dukes honored and recognized Mascioli, Matthews and Rodriguez-Vidal for their contributions to the Duquesne tennis program.
The Dukes will travel to Saint Joseph's on Friday, April 8 around 1:30 p.m.
