MIAMI – The Duquesne University men's tennis team was edged out by St. Thomas (NAIA) 4-3 Tuesday afternoon.

The Dukes (4-5) dropped two out of three in doubles play, but recovered in singles competition to claim wins at the Nos. 1, 3 and 5 spots to tie the match up at 3-3.

Kaipo Marshall, fresh off of traveling to Turkey for a Barbados Davis Cup match against Ukraine, earned a 7-5, 7-6 (5) win at No. 1 singles over Thomas Andrews.

Alejandro Rodriguez-Vidal earned the win at No. 3 singles over Raul Safont Martinez in straight sets, 7-5, 6-3.

Tamirlan Teberikov evened the match at 3-3 when he defeated Luis Leon 6-7, 6-1, 1-0 (3) at No. 5 singles.

The match came down to the decision at No. 6 singles, but unfortunately the Dukes came up short, allowing St. Thomas to pull out the match.

Duquesne concludes its spring break trip on Friday, March 11 when it takes on Atlantis University in Miami at 10 a.m.
