PITTSBURGH - The Duquesne University women's tennis team was dispatched 4-0 by Delaware Saturday at the Alpha. The match was called after the Blue Hens clinched the match with the fourth point of the day.

The Dukes (4-4) were defeated in all three doubles positions to open play, before dropping the No. 1 and No. 2 singles positions to sit on the brink of defeat. A tie-breaker win for Delaware at No. 5 singles secured the match for the Blue Hens and the match was called.

Two of the final three singles matches that went unfinished each were heading into a third set, while the final match was heading into a second-set tiebreaker. 

Both the men's and women's teams will head south to Florida for their spring break trips. The women's team will open the week at St. Thomas (NAIA) on Tuesday, March 8.
