ANNAPOLIS, Md. –– Duquesne University diver
Sidney O'Donnell will compete in the NCAA Zone A Diving Championship March 7-9 at the U.S. Naval Academy's Lejeune Hall. The event will determine the qualifiers from the region for the NCAA Championship meets.
Competition for O'Donnell begins Monday at noon and features the one-meter board event. Tuesday's session also begins at noon and will include O'Donnell in the three-meter board event.
Each of the five zone meets will qualify a different number of divers for the NCAA Championship. Zone A has been allocated five divers in each of the women's events. Divers who qualify in one event and also place among the top-12 finishers in another will be able to compete at the NCAA Championship in the additional events.
Georgia Tech will play host to both national championship meets this spring. The women's meet will be held March 17-19 and the men's meet will be contested March 24-26.
