PITTSBURGH – The Duquesne men's tennis team was defeated 6-1 by Dayton Sunday at the Alpha.

The Dukes (6-7, 1-1 A-10) battled in all three doubles matchups, including a 6-3 win by
Jin Dassanayake and
Kaipo Marshall at the No. 2 position. Ultimately, the Flyers (12-6, 2-0 A-10) squeaked out identical 7-5 wins at Nos. 1 and 3 doubles to secure the point.

Alex Mascioli got the Dukes on to the scoreboard with a three-set win over Dayton's Will Harper. Mascioli won by scores of 7-6 (10-3), 1-6, 6-2 in his No. 3 singles matchup.

Dayton took each of the other five singles matches in straight sets.

Duquesne will play its home-finale on Saturday, April 2 when it welcomes Mercyhust to the Alpha on Senior Day. The match is set to start around 4 p.m.
