NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – Senior Hailey Poling has earned Atlantic 10 All-Conference Second Team honors and freshman Carsyn Henschen was named to the Atlantic 10 All-Rookie Team on Thursday, as voted on by the league's coaches.
Poling led the A-10 in assists for the second-straight year with 989. Her 9.07 assists per set were also the most in the conference. The senior had 15 matches with 30 or more assists.
The Uniontown, Ohio native had the second-most digs on the Dukes with 277 and ranked fifth on the team with 45 blocks. She also ranked second on the team with 34 aces, which was tied for eighth-most in the conference.
By the end of the season, Poling cemented herself into the Duquesne record book by jumping all the way up to 2,811 assists – the sixth-highest total in program history.
Henschen came onto the scene as a freshman and made an immediate impact for the Dukes. She led the team and ranked sixth in the conference with 286 kills. Her 21 kills against Canisius on Sept. 2 was tied for the most by a Duquesne player this season.
The New Knoxville, Ohio native recorded 10 or more kills 15 times this season. She was also named to the Duquesne/RMU Invitational All-Tournament Team on Sept. 3 after totaling 41 kills and seven service aces in the three matches.
Defensively, she was also able to record 38 blocks and 76 digs.
