GENEVA, Ohio – The Duquesne University swimming and diving team took second out of the five teams competing at the A-10 Invite at the SPIRE Institute – site of the 2023 A-10 Championships.
The Dukes notched 1296.5 points total, second only to Oakland University (1471.5). George Mason, St. Bonaventure and Cleveland State rounded out the team standings.
"I thought overall we performed pretty well as a team," Head Coach
David Sheets said. "This was the second week in a row we've competed in a multi-day event and having the grit to get up and race each time is something we continue to build on. Each one of the swimmers continues to focus on the execution of how their swims and not as much the time on the board."
"The divers had another strong showing with Amy Read and
Sidney O'Donnell placing first and second on one-meter and second and third on three-meter springboards," he added. "
Morgan Doolittle, Ashley Felitsky,
Julia Doolittle also placed fifth, sixth, and seventh standing in the top-eight. The team is so much fun to work with and I can't wait to see what the rest of the season brings."
