@DuqSwimDive Wins Second-Straight Over Saint Francis U

LORETTO, Pa. - The Duquesne women's swimming and diving team completed the season sweep of Saint Francis U on Friday evening, defeating the Red Flash for the second consecutive meet by a score of 151-97 at Stokes Natatorium. The Dukes also posted a win over Saint Francis at Towers Pool on Saturday, Feb. 27.

On Friday, Duquesne's 200 medley relay team with Audrey Steen (San Pedro, Calif. / San Pedro), Laura Goettler (Butler, Pa. / Butler), Mara Voytek (Valley View, Ohio / Cuyahoga Heights) and Leah Reisker (Gainesville, Fla. / F.W. Buchholz) kicked off the meet with a first-place finish in the event with a time of 1:47.70.

That was one of four first-place finishes for Steen, who also paced the 100 fly (57.99), 200 fly (2:09.30) and 400 free relay (3:36.30) with Hanna Everhart (Bloomsburg, Pa. / Bloomsburg Area), Emma Brinton (Landenberg, Pa. / Avon Grove) and Reisker.

Reisker bested the field in the 100 free with a mark of 53.83, giving her a total of three first-place finishes at the meet.

Goettler won 100 breast with a time of 1:05.89 while Voytek finished first in the 200 IM at 2:12.33 for Duquesne.

Everhart paced the 200 free at 1:56.75 for the Dukes for her second first-place mark of the evening.

Emma Menzer (Newark, Del. / Newark Charter) won the 1,650 free at 17:40.66 for Duquesne and Katelyn Harkrader (Hatfield, Pa. / North Penn) paced the 200 back at 2:07.44.

The Dukes moved to 2-1 in dual action on the season while the Red Flash dropped to 0-2. Duquesne owns a 15-2 advantage in the all-time series against Saint Francis, including 11 straight victories.

Head coach David Sheets: ""It was nice to get the team on the road, especially the freshmen and swim somewhere other than Towers Pool. The team did a nice job supporting each other and getting up to race.  With limited opportunities to compete we are trying to make the most of the ones we get."
