PITTSBURGH - Duquesne head coach

The Dukes welcomed seven student-athletes who signed with the Dukes yesterday (

Cameron McLaurin and
Sam Neill) in addition to six from the December early signing period (

Malichi Lowery and
Jaheim Williams).
The 13 transfers introduced included nine players who enrolled prior to the fall semester (

Garrett Owens,
Nathan Proctor Jr.,
Tymar Sutton and

Darius Perrantes,
Phillip Thomas and
DeMarcus Townsend).
"I am excited about the additions to our roster today, at the beginning of this semester, in the December signing period and last summer leading in to the fall," said Schmitt. "I applaud these young men and their families for the diligent work they did as they faced the challenge of choosing a school through virtual visits and conversations with our staff."
"Our staff did an outstanding job adapting to a different style of recruiting and we appreciate the support we received form our academic and athletic administration, professors and football support personnel," said Schmitt. "Although working differently they maintained the relationships with students and potential students that make Duquesne a special place."
The Dukes' 13 signees hail from five different states (Florida, Georgia, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Virginia) and includes four defensive backs, three offensive linemen, a pair of linebackers, a defensive lineman, a running back, a tight end and a wide receiver.
Duquesne's 13 transfer additions come to The Bluff from six states (California Florida, Kansas, Maryland, New York, Ohio) and includes three defensive backs, three wide receivers, two defensive linemen, two running backs, a quarterback, a linebacker and a long snapper. Nine come from Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) schools with five from Power-Five institutions.
The Dukes are slated to open their spring season on Sunday, March 7 hosting Sacred Heart at Arthur J. Rooney Field.
