Duquesne (3-7), returns home looking to snap a three-game losing streak when it takes on New Hampshire (4-3) at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 11 at UPMC Cooper Fieldhouse (ESPN+). The DU/UNH game will be followed by the Duquesne women vs. Saint Francis U at 5:00 p.m.

The Dukes, who haven't been home since a 78-70 loss to Bowling Green on Dec. 1, are coming off back-to-back defeats at Marshall and DePaul.

New Hampshire, which is 1-3 on the road with a five-point loss at Marquette (70-75) and 11-point defeat at Providence (58-69), is coming off a 76-59 loss at Bryant on Wednesday. The Wildcats,  who trailed by six with just under 11 minutes left, played without second-leading scorer and preseason All-America East pick Nick Guadarrama.

DU is 44-20 at home under Dambrot, including a 23-7 mark in non-conference games (2-3 this season). The Dukes are 15-5 in non-conference home games - including wins at four different "home" venues since 2018-19.

  • Duquesne led for 99:29 of a possible 125 minutes in three of its losses: 36:58 (never trailing in regulation) of its 84-76 OT loss to Colorado at the Paradise Jam, 32:45 in the loss to Bowling Green and 29:46 at Marshall.  Colorado hit a 3-pointer to tie it with :03 left in regulation and Marshall hit a game-deciding "3" with :10 left.
  • First-year Indiana State transfer Tre Williams is coming off a 17-10 double-double at DePaul. The 6-7 Williams led the team in points, rebounds, assists (3) and blocks (4) vs. the Blue Demons. Williams, who led the Missouri Valley Conference in blocks last year (37), leads the Dukes with 26 rejections, including seven vs. Colorado on Nov. 20.
  • First-year TCU transfer Kevin Easley Jr. has scored in double digits in nine of DU's 10 games. Easley Jr. leads the Dukes with a 13.0 ppg. scoring average and 15 3-pointers (.455).
  • First-year Mercer transfer Leon Ayers III, the Nov. 29 A-10 Player of the Week, saw his streak of consecutive 20-point games (23 vs. Bradley, 23 vs. American & 20 vs. Bowling Green) snapped with his seven points at Marshall. He bounced back with 13 points at DePaul.
  • Freshman guard Primo Spears, a one-time Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week, has topped the 20-point mark in two of DU's past five games (21 vs. American and a season-high 23 at Marshall). He leads the team with 29 assists.
  • Freshman guard Jackie Johnson III, who had six points in DU's first two games, scored 27 off the bench vs. Weber State on Nov. 15. It was the most points off the bench by a Duke since Jordan Stevens had 27 at Abilene Christian on Nov. 22, 2014. Johnson III, who had 11 points at DePaul, is shooting .462 (12-26) from 3-point.
  • According to KenPom.com Duquesne ranks 353rd of 358 Division I teams in the "experience" category (thru Dec. 8).
  • The Dukes have had 10 or fewer turnovers in their past four games (9 vs. American, 8 vs. Bowling Green and 10 at Marshall and DePaul).

Keith Dambrot vs. UNH: First Meeting
  • This is the second game between the Dukes and America East Conference member New Hampshire ... UNH won the first meeting by an 84-81 score at the A.J Palumbo Center on Nov. 13, 2013.
  • UNH head coach Bill Herrion, who is in his 17th season with the Wildcats, is the only coach in AE history to earn four Coach of the Year honors (1994, 1995, 1996 & 1999). He is the all-time winningest coach in program history with 201 career victories.
  • Duquesne, which faced the No. 2 team in adjusted tempo (per KenPom) in Marshall last week, will be taking on one of the most deliberate teams in the nation in UNH, which ranks No. 351 (of 358 teams) in pace of play. The Wildcats rank 357th of 358 teams in average length of possession.
  • Senior forwards Nick Guadarrama (10.8, 5.3) and Jayden Martinez (18.7, 8.1) were both named America East Preseason All-Conference.
  • UNH was picked third in the America East preseason coaches' poll, after finishing third in the conference standings last season with a 9-6 record.
  • Duquesne is 14-4 all-time vs. the America East, including an 11-3 mark in games played in Pittsburgh.
  • This is DU head coach Keith Dambrot's first meeting with UNH. Dambrot is 2-0 vs. America East schools at Duquesne with wins over UMass Lowell (83-71 on Nov. 25, 2018) and Maine (72-46 on Dec. 16, 2018).

  • DePaul outshot Duquesne .636 to .400 in the second half to break open a tight game. The Dukes trailed 55-50, with the ball, with just under 11 minutes left.
  • The Blue Demons, who shot .530 for the game, outscored the Dukes 51-37 in the second half.
  • Duquesne shot .406, including 6-of-19 from 3-point (4-of-15 in the second half).
  • Tre Williams posted a 17-10 double-double and added four blocks and three assists to lead four Dukes in double figures. Leon Ayers III had 13 points, Kevin Easley Jr. scored 12 and Jackie Johnson III added 11 off the bench for DU.
  • Duquesne's largest lead four at 18-14 with 8:04 left in the first half ...
