PITTSBURGH - The Duquesne women's cross country team secured a first-place finish at the Carnegie Mellon Invitational on Saturday at Schenley Park.
The Dukes registered a score of 43 to pace the field of 14 teams, with Clarion finishing second at 84 and Carnegie Mellon third at 102.
Tessa Franchi led the Dukes with a fourth-place showing, finishing the five-kilometer race in 19:42.1.
Laura Ehrenberger was right behind Franchi with a fifth-place mark of 19:44.1 for Duquesne.
Kiki Thornton was the next Duquesne runner to cross the finish line in eighth at 19:51.0 followed by
Angela Valotta in 11th at 20:12.4 and
Kierra Shreffler in 15th at 20:34.4.
