UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - The Duquesne women's cross country team participated in the Penn State National Open on Friday morning hosted by the Nittany Lions at the Blue & White Golf Courses. The Dukes competed in the six-kilometer race in Happy Valley as their final tune-up before the 2021 Atlantic 10 Championship on Saturday, Oct. 30.
Duquesne posted a 16th-place team finish on the day in the highly-competitive field with a score of 452. Eighth-ranked Michigan paced the event with a score of 33 followed by Georgia Tech second at 82, Northwestern third at 109, the host Nittany Lions fourth at 123 and Cornell fifth at 148.
Haley Hamilton crossed the finish line first for the Dukes in 96th place with a time of 23:10.1 on the day with
Grace Sisson right behind her in 97th place at 23:11.6
Ally Christy posted a 101st-place mark of 23:15.0 followed by
Gina Bolla in 113th (23:30.7) and
Tori Kocsis 114th (23:32.8) for Duquesne.

Duquesne is set to defend its crown at the 2021 Atlantic 10 Cross Country Championship on Saturday, Oct. 30 at the Elvin R. King Cross Country Course in Cedarville, Ohio. The action gets underway with the men's five-mile championship at 10 a.m. followed by the women's five-kilometer championship at 10:50 a.m.
