MORGANTOWN, W.V. - Duquesne freshman diver
Sidney O'Donnell (Solon, Ohio / Solon) is set to participate in the 2020 NCAA Zone A Diving Championship on Monday and Tuesday afternoon at The Aquatic Center at Mylan Park hosted by West Virginia University.
The 1-meter competition will take place on Monday at noon ET followed by the 3-meter on Tuesday at noon ET.
O'Donnell qualified for the championship at the Western Pennsylvania Invitational hosted by Pitt on Friday, Jan. 24, recording a score of 279.75 on the 1-meter boards and 287.45 during the 3-meter for the Dukes. Both figures represented school records at Duquesne, as well.
A two-time Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week, O'Donnell also earned a bronze medal in the 1-meter dive at the A-10 Championship for the Dukes, becoming the first Duquesne diver to medal at the A-10 Championship since the 1996 season when Dawn Fleissner took home silver on the 1-meter boards.
O'Donnell followed that up with a fourth-place mark in the 3-meter dive with a score of 268.90.
