PITTSBURGH - The five-time Northeast Conference champion Duquesne football team is slated to begin its 15-date spring practice schedule on Monday, March 9 at 8:30 p.m. at Arthur J. Rooney Field.
The Dukes will have 12 practice dates preceding their annual spring game on Saturday, April 4 at 2 p.m. on The Bluff. Duquesne will then cap its spring schedule with two more practice dates on April 6-7.
Head coach
Jerry Schmitt enters his 16th season at the helm of the program in 2020. The all-time winningest coach in program history, Schmitt and the Dukes seek their sixth NEC title in 2020. The most successful program in the conference over the last decade, Duquesne has tallied 65 overall wins and 39 league victories, more than any other team in the conference. The Dukes have also made a pair of appearances in the NCAA Divison I-FCS Playoffs since 2015.
Duquesne officially opens the 2020 campaign on the road at Air Force on Saturday, Sept. 5.
