GENEVA, Ohio - Duquesne took home three medals on day two of the 2020 Atlantic 10 Championship on Thursday night at the SPIRE Institute, staying in second place through seven events at the league meet. The Dukes have tallied 199 points, with George Washington leading the way with 251 and Fordham third with 194.

Carson Gross (York, Pa. / York Suburban) and
Lauren Devorace (Rocky River, Ohio / Rocky River) began Thursday night's finals with a pair of medal-winning performances in the 500-yard freestyle. Gross set a new school record in the event with a time of 4:50.07, taking home silver for the Dukes and shattering the previous record of 4:51.04 set by Devorace in 2018. Devorace followed with a bronze medal finish of 4:50.54, which also would have bested her previous school record. This marks the second time Gross has medaled in the 500 free in the last three seasons, while Devorace has medaled in the event for three straight years.
Cateri Christinis (Charleroi, Pa. / Oakland Catholic) also scored for Duquesne in the event, taking 11th place with a mark of 4:57.02.
Emma Brinton (Landenberg, Pa. / Avon Grove) posted a bronze-medal finish in the 200-yard individual medley for the Dukes, registering an NCAA 'B' cut time of 1:59.78. This marks her third consecutive medal-winning performance in the event at the A-10 Championship.
Audrey Steen (San Pedro, Calif. / San Pedro) placed eighth for Duquesne with a mark of 2:03.32.
Hanna Everhart (Bloomsburg, Pa. / Bloomsburg Area) finished fifth for the Dukes in the 50-yard freestyle, recording a time of 23.44 in the finals.
Duquesne's 200-yard individual medley team of Everhart, Gross, Steen and
Sydney Sherman (Erie, Pa. / Villa Maria Academy) capped the meet with a sixth-place showing with a mark of 1:33.96.
The Dukes hit the pool for day three of the A-10 Championship on Friday with prelims starting at 10 a.m. followed by finals at 6:30 p.m. Friday's events include the 400 IM, 100 fly, 200 free, 100 breast, 100 back, 3-meter dive and 400 medley relay.
