Duquesne (6-2-1, 1-1) completes a stretch of five consecutive road games when it leaves the state of Pennsylvania for the first time to face Liberty (3-6-0, 0-2) on Tuesday night in Lynchburg, Va. (7:00 p.m./no live stream). Duquesne, which is 2-2 on the road, is coming off losses at Saint Francis U (2-1) and at La Salle (2-1 in OT). The loss at Saint Francis ended a school-record six-match win streak. Liberty enters Tuesday's game having dropped three in a row.
THE SERIES VS. LIBERTY
- This is the first meeting between the Dukes and Flames.
- Liberty, which competes in the Atlantic Sun Conference, is 1-2 at home.
- The Flames are 1-1 vs. Atlantic 10 Conference schools with a 3-0 home loss to George Washington and a 3-1 road win at George Mason.
- Liberty enters Tuesday's game looking to snap a three-match losing streak: 1-0 at North Florida, 1-0 at Navy and 3-0 at NJIT.
- The Flames, who haven't scored since the 50th minute of their 1-0 win over Liberty on Sept. 17, have been shut out in all six of their defeats. They have won every game in which they have scored.

- Duquesne was ranked 7th in the Southeast Region of the Sept. 24 United Soccer Coaches Poll. It was the second-straight week the Dukes were ranked (up from No. 10 on Sept. 17). The new poll will be released Oct. 1.
- The Dukes are coming off back-to-back 2-1 losses at Saint Francis U. and at La Salle. La Salle scored in the 97th minute to defeat DU on Saturday.
- The loss at Saint Francis U. ended DU's school record win streak at six. The streak broke the school record of five set in 2005 and matched in 2006.
- Sophomore forward Manel Busquets and senior defender Zach Hall are tied for the team lead in goals (4) and points (10). Hall, who has scored in each of the Dukes' past two games, leads the team with 11 career goals.
- Busquets leads the Atlantic 10 in points per game at 1.25 and Hall is third at 1.11.
- Senior goalkeeper Robbie McKelvey, the two-time A-10 Defensive Player of the Week (Sept. 3 & 23), has 49 saves in nine games with a 0.86 goals against average. He has three shutouts in nine starts (vs. Oakland, vs. VMI and at Robert Morris) and has yet to give up more than two scores in a game this season. His 49 saves began the week tied for fourth-most nationally.
- Duquesne has surrendered just eight goals on 151 shots (59 on goal) through nine matches.
- Eight of DU's nine matches have been decided by one or fewer goals. The lone exception was a 2-0 win at Robert Morris on Sept. 18.
- DU's 13 goals this season have come from six players: sophomore Manel Busquets (4, vs. Oakland, at Robert Morris and two at Saint Joseph's; the Oakland and Saint Joe's goals were game-winners), senior Zach Hall (4, vs. Bowling Green, vs. Cal Baptist, at Saint Francis U & at La Salle), first-year St. John's transfer Jack Shearer (2, fourth career and first as a Duke vs. Niagara & second goal was a game-winner at Robert Morris), sophomore Eric Zech (1, first career vs. VMI), Nate Dragisich (1, first career, game-winner in 89' vs. Niagara) & Moritz Kappelsberger (1, third career, game-winning PK in the 33rd minute vs. Cal Baptist).
- Busquets leads the Dukes with 23 shots. Hall lead the team in shots on goal with 10, followed by Busquets and Jack Shearer with nine each.
- Duquesne is in its seventh season under head coach Chase Brooks. Brooks has led the Dukes to three Atlantic 10 Conference tournament appearances (2013, 2015 & 2016).
- The Dukes return eight field players who started 10 or more games last season, including six sophomores: D Mortiz Kappelsberger, D/M Nathan Dossantos, D/M Rob Dymond, F Manel Busquets, D Eric Zech and D Kendall Newman. Newman missed the first five matches of the season due to injury.
- Busquets (11 points, 4 goals) and Dymond (7 points, 3 goals) were DU's top returning point-getters and goal scorers from last season. Hall and Kappelsberger (both 5 points, 2 goals) were next. Dossantos was the only other returnee with a point last year (2 points on one goal).
- Hall leads all returnees in career games (59) and starts (55). Ryan Landry, who is out for the season (foot injury) was next at 45 and 39. No other returning field player entered the season with more than 16 games played (Dossantos, Kappelsberger & Zech at 16 each).
- The Dukes have 11 first-year players on the 2019 roster including nine freshmen (including one redshirt) and a pair of transfers in junior F Jack Shearer (St. John's) and junior F Waleed Charif (West Liberty). Shearer, a native of Aliquippa, Pa., played in 35 matches with 26 starts in two seasons at SJU.
