Duquesne great Chuck Cooper, the first African-American drafted by an NBA team, was officially inducted to the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame over the weekend of September 5-7. The highlight of the weekend was Friday night's enshrinement ceremony.
Chuck Cooper III, Chuck's son, gave his acceptance speech and was welcomed on stage by presenters Bill Russell, Tom Heinsohn, Ray Allen, Dominique Wilkins, Elgin Baylor, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Mannie Jackson, Julius Erving, Larry Bird and Isaiah Thomas.
