HARMAR, Pa. - The Duquesne men's tennis team celebrated senior night with its third straight victory, topping Mount St. Mary's 4-0 at Alpha Tennis and Fitness of Pittsburgh. Seniors
Drew Akins (Johns Creek, Ga. / Johns Creek),
Dane Bendel (Pittsburgh, Pa. / Mt. Lebanon) and
Chris Corrao (King City, Ontario / Bill Crothers) were honored prior to the matchup for their contributions to the program over the last four seasons.
The Dukes improved to 10-9 with the win while the Mountaineers dropped to 3-15.
Alex Mascioli and
Jared Isaacs picked up a 6-1Â triumph at No. 1 doubles before Bendel and
Alejandro Rodriguez-Vidal clinched the doubles point for Duquesne with a 6-2 victory at No. 3.
Corrao and Bendel took the court first in singles action and dominated their matchups at the No. 1 and No. 5 positions, respectively, each with the same score of 6-1, 6-2.
Rodriguez then clinched the DU win with a 6-2, 6-3 victory at No. 2 singles.
