GENEVA, Ohio - Emma Brinton set a school and Atlantic 10 Championship record in the 200 individual medley to help the Duquesne swimming and diving team hold the lead after day two of the A-10 Championship meet on Thursday at the SPIRE Institute.
The Dukes have tallied 229 points followed by George Washington second with 206 and Richmond third with 198.
Brinton posted a time of 1:58.90, an NCAA 'B' cut mark which bested her own school record of 1:59.18 at last year's championship, also good for the A-10 Championship meet record.
Abigail Stauffer recorded a bronze medal finish in the event for Duquesne as well with a time of 2:01.07 while
Audrey Steen placed seventh in the finals with a mark of 2:02.38.
Lauren Devorace won a bronze medal in the 500-yard freestyle relay with a time of 4:51.77 followed by
Carson Gross fourth at 4:53.15 and
Summer Svitavsky seventh at 4:55.63 in the finals for the Dukes.
Sawyer Weitzel posted a score of 224.00 in the one-meter dive good for an eighth-place finish, the first points earned for a Duquesne diver at the A-10 Championship since the reinstatement of the program prior to last season.
The Dukes closed out the meet with a fourth-place mark in the 200-yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:33.38 by

Duquesne returns to action with day three of four of the A-10 Championship on Friday morning beginning with the prelims at 10 a.m.Tomorrow's events include the 400 individual medley, 100 butterfly, 200 freestyle, 100 breaststroke, 100 backstroke and 400 medley relay.
