AKRON, Ohio – Led by a program-record tying 14 3-pointers, the Duquesne women's basketball cruised to its sixth consecutive victory with a 88-63 win over Akron on Wednesday morning at James A. Rhodes Arena. The Dukes tied the school record of 14 triples, which was set on Feb. 25, 2009 on the road against La Salle. The mark is the most-ever for Duquesne in non-conference play.

The Dukes (6-2) shot 51 percent from the field (34-67 FG) and 54 percent from long range (14-26), while holding the Zips (4-3) to shoot just 5-of-18 (28 percent) from long range. After halftime, Duquesne did not let up, as Cannon knocked down 4-of-6 attempts from long range to lead the Dukes in the quarter with 11 points. She also grabbed five of her 11 rebounds in the period. Overall Duquesne outscored Akron 25-19, as the Dukes took a 70-43 lead into the final quarter.

Akron could not cut its deficit to lower than 23 in the fourth, as Duquesne earned its sixth consecutive win and tied the Loyola Chicago's NCAA Division I leading fifth road win of season.

Over the course of the past three games against Pitt, Central Connecticut State and Akron, the Dukes have outscored the opposition by a score of 241-158 for an average win margin of 27.7 points.
