PITTSBURGH - Junior
Marcus Weathers was named Atlantic 10 co-Player of the Week for his performance in Duquesne's wins over Columbia and Radford last week. The 6-5 forward averaged 17.5 points and 9.5 rebounds and blocked four shots in helping the Dukes to their best start in 51 years at 9-0.
Weathers, who shot .696 for the week (16-of-23), had 16 points and six rebounds vs. Columbia and followed that with a 19-13 double-double in the win over Radford in Akron, Ohio. The 19 points tied his career high and his 13 rebounds set a new career mark.
This is the first A-10 award for the second-year Miami, Ohio transfer.
Duquesne, one of four remaining undefeated NCAA Division I programs, returns to action when it takes on Austin Peay on Saturday afternoon in the first of two games at the St. Pete Shootout in St. Petersburg, Fla.
