NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - Duquesne freshman swimmer
Emma Menzer (Newark, Del. / Newark Charter) garnered Atlantic 10 Women's Swimming and Diving Rookie of the Week honors for her performance over the weekend at the A-10 Classic in Geneva, Ohio, conference officials announced on Monday.
Menzer played a key part in helping the Dukes register a 4-0 record at the A-10 Classic with wins over George Mason, La Salle, Saint Louis and St. Bonaventure.
She paced the 1,650-yard freestyle at the event with a time of 17:43.62. Menzer also bested swimmers from George Mason, La Salle and Saint Louis in the 200-yard IM (2:07.76) and 400-yard IM (4:30.51) with second-place showings in those events. Menzer was part of Duquesne's 400-yard medley relay team wich posted a fourth-place finish in the event with a mark of 3:58.26.
The Dukes have now had at least one A-10 Rookie of the Week award winner in three straight seasons and five of the last six campaigns - 2014-15: Kayla Owens (2x), 2015-16:

In addition to Menzer's award, St. Bonaventure's Katrina Wardner earned A-10 Women's Swimming and Diving Performer of the Week accolades.
Duquesne returns to action on Thursday, Nov. 21 at the Liberty Invitational in Lynchburg, Va.
