PITTSBURGH – Coming off a sweep to George Mason last Sunday, the Duquesne volleyball team (7-10. 1-3 A10) looks to keep momentum on its side on Friday, when the Dukes travel across the Keystone State to face La Salle (7-8, 2-2 A10). The match is set for a 7:00 p.m. start in Philadelphia at Tom Gola Arena.
THE SERIES
- The Dukes have dominated La Salle in the all-time series by a mark of 42-5 , but the Explorers won two of last season's three meetings including the latest match in the 2018 A-10 Championships.
- Duquesne began the series with a 22 match winning streak in 1989. After three La Salle victories from 2004-2006, the Dukes rallied off 20 consecutive wins until last season.

- In its first two matches at Mt. Lebanon High School last weekend, Duquesne fell to George Washington in straight-sets, but rallied back on Sunday to sweep George Mason.
- Morgan Kelly was recognized as the Atlantic 10's Rookie of the Week after leading the Dukes offense with 23 kills (3.83 kills/set). Against George Mason, Kelly hit .647, which is the best mark by a Duquesne player since Lacey Lever tallied a .786 mark against Fordham in 2014. The .647 percentage is the best by a Duquesne freshman since Arielle Love hit at a .667 clip against Fordham in 2011.
- Liz Wayne missed the George Washington match with an illness, but returned to Sunday's match with 13 kills and a .500 hitting percentage. Wayne ranks second in the A-10 with a .368 hitting percentage, which is 55th nationally. In three A-10 matches this season, Wayne leads the team with 3.30 kills per set and a .450 hitting percentage.
- Kelly isn't the only freshman finding success in conference play, with Ashley Larson ranking just behind Claire Boe (3.77 digs/set) with 3.54 digs per set. Classmate Hailey Poling is second to Dani Suiter (5.92 assists/set) with 4.85 assists per set against A-10 competition.
- The Explorers enter the Friday night showdown with Duquesne with a 7-8 overall record and a 2-2 record in conference play. La Salle and Duquesne have played the same four A-10 foes, with Duquesne and the Explorers both defeating George Mason and both falling to VCU and George Washington. La Salle was able to take down Davidson, while Duquesne dropped the match to the Wildcats in its A-10 opener.
- La Salle leads the A-10 in assists per set (12.83), while ranking second in kills per set (13.66) and third in hitting percentage (.209).
