Balanced Attack Leads @DuqWBB over Saint Joseph’s

Big 3 combine for 61 points

PITTSBURGH –  Kadri-Ann Lass, Julijana Vojinovic and Chassidy Omogrosso combined for 61 points in Duquesne's 81-73 victory over Saint Joseph's on Wednesday night.
 
Lass scored a season-high 23 points, Vojinovic 21 and Omogrosso 17 as the Dukes improved to 9-8, 3-1 A-10. Vojinovic also added season-highs seven rebounds and six assists.
 
Alyssa Monaghan led Saint Joseph's (5-12, 1-3 A-10) with 23 points.
 
The Dukes held the Hawks scoreless for the game's first 2:47, as they took an early 6-0 advantage. SJU would go on a 10-2 run to take their first lead of the game at the 5:48 mark. There would be one tie and three lead changes before a Vojinovic 3-pointer at 4:36 put Duquesne up 14-12.
 
Duquesne would go ahead by nine points, 31-22 at 5:51 of the 2nd quarter. The Dukes would hold the lead until 1:11 when Nailah Delinois capped a 15-5 run to give the Hawks a 37-36 halftime lead.
 
The first five minutes of the 3rd quarter remained tight with three lead changes and four ties. A Libby Bazelak 3-pointer at 4:08 broke a 46-46 deadlock en route to taking a 58-53 lead heading into the final quarter.
 
The Hawks would make it a one possession game when Kristalyn Baisden's layup made the score 61-59 with 7:49 remaining in the 4th quarter. But Omogrosso nailed a 3-pointer on the next possession and Duquesne never looked back, taking a 14-point lead at 81-67 with 1:03 left to play.

  • Duquesne shot a season-best .527 (29-of-55) from the field and .533 (8-of-15) from 3-point range
  • Vojinovic also shot a season-best .538 (7-of-13)
  • This was Lass' fifth career 20-point game and Vojinovic 14th
  • Lass moved ahead of Aiga Bautre into 18th place on the all-time scoring list with 1,204 points
  • Vojinovic passed Gail Wilkins and Kelly Eberhardt into 23rd place on the all-time scoring list with 1,089 points
