FAIRFAX, Va. – Leading 58-57,
Halle Bovell blocked a shot with 15 seconds remaining that kept Duquesne ahead and
Chassidy Omogrosso's free throws with 11 seconds left put the Dukes up by three in their 60-57 victory over George Mason in Fairfax, Va. on Sunday afternoon. The game was broadcast nationally on CBS Sports Network.
Kadri-Ann Lass led the Dukes (8-8, 2-1 A-10) with 17 points.
Julijana Vojinovic scored all 11 of her points in the 2
nd half. Lass and
Paige Cannon each had six rebounds.
Conor Richardson added a season-high 11 points.
Nicole Cardano-Hillary led all scorers with 21 points. Jacy Bolton recorded a double-double of 16 points and 12 rebounds.
After being down the whole 1
st quarter, Richardson's layup to open the 2
nd quarter to gave Duquesne its first lead of the game at 13-12. However it lasted 25 seconds as Bolton's basket put the Patriots back on top.
Mason would take a 26-17 advantage into halftime.
Duquesne cut the deficit to four points in the first three minutes of the 3
rd quarter forcing a Mason timeout. After the break, the Dukes got back-to-back 3-pointers form Richardson and Vojinovic to give them a 30-28 lead. The teams would exchange advantages three times before a pair of Cardano-Hillary foul shots closed out the quarter with Mason ahead 45-43.
Lass tied the game to start the 4
th quarter, but Cardano-Hillary answered with a 3-pointer.
Libby Bazelak's layup tied the game with 1:58 remaining, but Jewel Triggs foul shot put Mason up one. Cannon's reverse layup made the score 58-57 and put Duquesne ahead with 1:17 left to play. This was ultimately the game-winning basket.

- Duquesne has not lost to George Mason since the Patriots joined the Atlantic 10 Conference
- Duquesne's 26 points was the most 3rd quarter points scored this year
- The Dukes' 17 points was the second lowest at halftime this season (12 at Texas)
- Lass' 21 attempts was a career-high
- The Dukes held the A-10's most accurate shooter Mason's Carmarie Gatling to just 3-of-7, 11 percent under her average
