The Duquesne women's tennis team wrapped up the regular season 14-4 and 5-2 in the Atlantic 10 Conference after a 5-2 win over Fordham and a 4-3 loss at George Washington.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Dukes and Rams met on a neutral court in Philadelphia on Friday. Kylie Isaacs and Julianne Herman breezed through their double match at #1, 6-0. Laurel Shymansky and Maranda Sears clinched the point after their 6-4 win at #3.
Isaacs and Herman won at #1 and #2 singles in three sets. Aishwarya Kona clinched the match at #5. Sara Mitrovic also won her match at #6.
The next day, Duquesne traveled to Washington to play GW. After dropping #2 doubles, the Dukes won at #3 with Shymansky and Sears winning 6-3 and Herman and Isaacs 7-6 in a breaker at #1.
The Colonials went up 2-1 after wins at #4 and #1 singles. Herman's three set win at #2 tied the match. GW took the lead after winning #6. Aishwarya Kona won 6-4, 5-7, 6-0 at #5 to tie the match at 3-3. It came down Shymansky at #3, where the match was tied at a set a piece. In the close affair, GW took the third set 6-4 and that match 4-3.

Herman remains undefeated in A-10 play.
