Dukes Place Sixth at Sectionals


ITC Sectional Results - Stratford, N.J.

PITTSBURGH - Duquesne placed sixth of 17 teams at the 2018 Intercollegiate Team Championships Sectional Qualifier in Stratford, N.J. the weekend of March 10-11.

The Dukes - who averaged 190.44 over 64 baker games - finished with a 12188 total, which was 79 pins shy of qualifying for the USBC Intercollegiate National Championships.

The Sectional format consisted of 64 baker games over two days. Each team bowled four blocks of 16 games. There were 32 games bowled per day with 16 on a fresh oil pattern and another 16 on the burn. The top four finishers qualified for the championship.

The Dukes started slowly on the fresh pattern on day one, averaging 180.06 in their first 16 games. From that point on, DU was solid, averaging a 211.75 in the second block (third), a 183.38 in block three (fourth) and a 187.56 (sixth) in the final block.

Four Dukes finished in the Top 75 in the idividual qualifier: Kelsey Hackbart (26th, 1153 total pins), Cassidy Powers (30th, 1145), Olivia Farwell (53rd, 1115) and Allison Hresko (71st, 1075).
