DAY TWO RESULTS

GENEVA, Ohio - The Duquesne swimming and diving team continued its strong showing at the 2018 Atlantic 10 Championship on Thursday, shattering two more school records and claiming four medals, as the Dukes remain in the lead after two days of competition.

Duquesne has racked up 235 points through seven events followed by Richmond in second with 201 points and George Washington third with 176.

The Dukes opened the final session on Thursday night with a 1-2 finish in the 500-yard freestyle, as sophomore Lauren Devorace (Rocky River, Ohio/Rocky River) claimed gold in the event with a school-record time of 4:51.04 followed by classmate Carson Gross (York, Pa./York Suburban) in second at 4:51.78.

Devorace broke Gross' record of 4:54.58 in the event from earlier in the day in the preliminary round. Gross had topped Devorace's previous record of 4:54.64 set at last year's A-10 Championship.

Freshman Emma Brinton (Landenburg, Pa./Avon Grove) paced the 200 individual medley for the Dukes, shattering the school record with an NCAA "B" cut time of 1:59.18 in the finals. She bested her own time of 2:00.25 in Thursday's prelims and Lexi Santer's mark of 2:01.02 from the 2017 A-10 Championship.
