Duquesne, off to just its third 7-2 start in 46 years, will look to extend its home win streak to eight vs. Maine (2-9) on Sunday, Dec. 16 at 12:00 p.m. at the Palumbo Center (ESPN+). The Dukes will don their black & gold uniforms as part of their annual tribute to the city of Pittsburgh. In addition, first 412 fans in attendance will receive a one-of-a-kind Duquesne holiday season "ugly Christmas sweater" t-shirt. Duquesne has won its past 12 nonconference home games to bring its record to 14-2 in non-league home games under second-year head coach Keith Dambrot. DU is coming off a 72-57 win over Maryland Eastern Shore on Thursday. Freshman Lamar Norman Jr. led four Dukes in double figures with a season-high 16 points, and sophomore Miami, Ohio transfer Marcus Weathers added an 11-11 double-double to fuel the victory. Sunday's men's game will be followed by the DU women vs. East Tennessee State.

TRENDING
  • DU held Maryland Eastern Shore to an opponent season low 57 points in Thursday's 72-57 win.
  • DU is 14-3 under Keith Dambrot when holding opponents under 70 points. The Dukes are also 16-2 when they are the first to reach the 70-point mark.
  • Seven players have either led or tied for the team lead in scoring in nine games.
  • Guard Sincere Carry ranked first nationally among freshmen in steals per game (2.78) and sixth in assists per game (5.78) through Thursday.
  • Fellow freshman guard Lamar Norman Jr. is averaging 15.5 ppg. in DU's past two games (starts vs. Longwood & Maryland Eastern Shore). He is 7-of-16 from 3-point in his past two games.
  • The Dukes are 3-2 when trailing at the half. Last year DU was 1-10 when down at intermission. Duquesne has erased 14- and 18-point deficits (vs. UIC and Longwood respectively) this season.
  • Duquesne is 21-1 under Dambrot when leading with five minutes left.
  • DU's 8.67 steals per game average is the most by a Dukes' team since Ron Everhart's 2011 squad - led by freshman guard T.J. McConnell - led the nation at 9.91 spg.
  • First-year Akron transfer Michael Hughes, who was ranked fifth nationally in FG% (.709 overall) through Thursday, has missed DU's past two games (knee). He is averaging 19.7 points on 24-of-30 shooting in his past three games.
  • Junior guard Mike Lewis II needs 30 points to become Duquesne's 39th 1,000-point scorer.
