PITTSBURGH - Duquesne lacrosse coach Corinne Desrosiers recently announced that seniors Courtney Battles (Finksburg, Md./Westminster), Erin Conway (Basking Ridge, N.J./Ridge), Sarah Kollhoff (Exton, Pa./Downington) and Millie Micho (Highlands Ranch, Colo./Rock Canyon) will serve as the Dukes' captains for the 2019 campaign.

"We are excited to name Courtney, Erin, Sarah and Millie as our captains for this year," Desrosiers said. "While four may seem like a lot to some - after the transition of coaching staff this fall in addition to our intense training and implementation of completely new systems - these women showed not only to the coaching staff but to the team that they are capable of handling whatever comes our way this season. They will keep a fire going in turning this program around and our team will undoubtedly start their climb with these four captains leading the way."

Battles appeared in 15 games last season, tallying three goals, an assist, seven ground balls, seven draw controls and six caused turnovers. Conway ranked fourth on the team with 27 ground balls to go with 12 caused turnovers, good for fifth on the team.

Kollhoff ranked fourth on the Dukes with 26 points, including 20 goals and six assists. She netted three hat tricks on the year, including a pair of three-goal performances against Atlantic 10 foes George Washington and La Salle. Kollhoff ranked second on the team in both draw controls (39) and caused turnovers (21) while sitting third with 28 ground balls.

Micho has appeared in 40 career games with 24 starts during her first three years on the Bluff. In addition, she represented the Duquesne Student-Athlete Advisory Committee at the 2018 NCAA Convention.

The Dukes are slated to open the season on Sunday, Feb. 10 against Longwood at Arthur J. Rooney Field.
