@DuqSwimDive Competes at USA Swimming Winter National Championships

GREENSBORO, N.C. - Duquesne junior Abigail Stauffer (Chambersburg, Pa./Chambersburg) and sophomore Emma Brinton (Landenberg, Pa./Avon Grove) took part in the 2018 USA Swimming Winter National Championships from Wednesday through Saturday at the Greensboro Aquatic Center.

Brinton notched a new school record in the 200 long course meter individual medley with a time of 2:19.97 in the finals, good for fourth place in the "C" Final. She advanced to the final with a 24th-place mark of 2:20.11 in the morning prelims. Brinton bested her own previous school-record finish of 2:20.40.

Stauffer competed in both the 100 long course meter breaststroke (1:13.47) on Friday & 200 long course meter breaststroke (2:44.53) on Saturday.

Next up, the Dukes head to Florida for their annual winter training trip later this month. Duquesne will take part in the FIU Sprint Invite on Jan. 5 at 10 a.m.
