@DuqWBB Falls at Dayton 66-47

DAYTON, Ohio - Lauren Cannatelli scored 24 points in Dayton's 66-47 victory over Duquesne on Wednesday night at UD Arena.

Amadea Szamosi scored 10 points and had nine rebounds for the Dukes (14-13, 7-7 A-10). Julijana Vojinovic added 11 points while tying a career-high with five assists and Chassidy Omogrosso had eight points as Duquesne was held to 28.8 percent shooting for the night.

Cannatelli was the only player to score in double-figures for Dayton (18-8, 12-2 A-10).

FIRST QUARTER
Kadri-Ann Lass's jumper with 3:15 left gave Duquesne its first lead of the game at 6-5, however back-to-back Dayton 3-pointers would lift the Flyers to an 11-6 advantage heading into the 2nd quarter.

SECOND QUARTER
Saicha Grant-Allen's jumper gave the Flyers' their largest lead of the game - 21 points with 5:07 remaining - and put them ahead 30-9. Kelley Austria's layup with 32 seconds left would cap the score at 36-21 going into halftime.

THIRD QUARTER
Szamosi's 3-pointer at the 8:30 mark sparked a 7-0 run, cutting Duquesne's deficit to eight points, at 36-28. The Dukes would come within seven points off a Richardson 3-pointer with 5:38 left, however the Flyers would respond with a 10-0 run, extending their lead to 48-32 with 1:20 to go.

FOURTH QUARTER
Dayton took another 21-point lead at the at the 3:50 mark. The 4th quarter ended as the 1st quarter started, a 3-pointer by the Flyers.

UP NEXT
Duquesne will remain on the road and will face Rhode Island (4-22, 0-14 A-10) on Saturday afternoon at 2:00 P.M.

  • Szamosi jumped ahead of Orsi Szecsi and Chrissi Stough to move into 18th place on Duquesne's all-time scoring list - she now has 1,157 points
  • The all-time Duquesne/Dayton series is now 20-20
  • Cannatelli's 24 points and six 3-pointers were both season-highs against Duquesne
  • The Dukes shot a season-low 11.8 percent (2-of-17) from 3-point range
