FCS AP All-Americans
PITTSBURGH - Senior offensive lineman Ben Huss (Upper St. Clair, Pa./Upper St. Clair) garnered Associated Press Second Team FCS All-America honors, the organization announced today.
Huss becomes the eighth player in program history to earn AP All-America honors.
The 6-2, 310-pound senior started all 11 games at right guard for the Dukes in 2017, helping Duquesne lead the Northeast Conference (NEC) in rushing (198.5 ypg.) and scoring (32.2 ppg.).
Huss, a four-year starter for the Dukes, was part of a pair of Duquesne's NEC championship teams in 2015 and '16 as well the FCS playoff team in 2015.
The local product helped pave the way for 19 100-yard rushing performances by four different backs over the last three seasons.
He and two-time AP All-American Christian Kuntz are the only two players in school history to be named First Team All-NEC three times. In addition, Huss and classmate Nathan Stone are the only two four-time All-NEC honorees in Duquesne history.
Huss and Bryant linebacker Tom Costigan, who earned Third Team honors, were the only representatives from the NEC on the 2017 AP FCS All-American teams.
