QUICK RECAP:
The Duquesne swimming team defeated Xavier (171-90) and fell to Ohio U (160-97) Saturday morning in a dual meet hosted by Ohio U in Athens, Ohio.

The 400 Yard Medley Relay team of Abby Watson, Abigail Stauffer, Kayla Owens and Carson Gross opened the event with a second place finish with a time of 3:55.30.

Morgan Fink (58.78) and Watson (58.95) would go on to take second and third place respectively in the 100 Yard Backstroke.

Additionally the Dukes saw second and third place finishes in the 200 Yard Backstroke from Stauffer (2:23.96) and Owens (2:24.43), and Owens (58.61) also claimed second place in the 100 Yard Butterfly.

Duquesne took first and second in the 400 Yard Individual Medley with Lexi Santer (4:34.84) in first and Stauffer (4:35.41) in second.

The Dukes would end the day taking third place in the 400 Yard Freestyle Relay, with the team of Gross, Heather Svitavsky, Molly O'Brien and Santer finishing in 3:37.54.

COACH SHEETS QUOTE:
"We had some good swims today, but the consistency of racing as a team is something we need to work on as we get ready for the Atlantic 10 Championship. If we want to be competitive, our approach on how we race and what we do within the next race has to improve."

Duquesne is set to compete in the Western PA Invite, hosted by the University of Pittsburgh on Jan. 28, with the meet beginning at 11:00 a.m.
