Sept. 7, 2016 PITTSBURGH - Members of the Duquesne Athletics Family took part in the annual Rettsyndrome.org Pennsylvania Strollathon at Pittsburgh's Millvale Riverfront Park on Saturday, Sept. 3.
The event, designed to raise awareness and funds for Rettsyndrome.org, has a special meaning for the Department of Athletics, as the rare neurological disorder is present in the daughter of DU assistant rowing coach Jenn Langzettel, who helped coordinate the event.
There have been advances in research and there are clinical trials taking place to help alleviate some symptoms. It is hoped that through events like the Strollathon that Rett syndrome could be the first cured neurological disorder.
