Duquesne Women Win Buffalo XC Invite

Duquesne's women's cross country team won its second meet of the season, finishing first at The University at Buffalo Stampede Cross Country Invitational Friday morning in New York.

The Dukes finished tied for first with the host Bulls, but won the tiebreaker by having the highest finishing individual runner. That individual was junior Jenny DelSignore, who placed first in the 68-runner field with a time of 21:27.1. She was followed by senior Valerie Palermo in fourth place in 21:54.2 and senior Autumn Greba in fifth place in 21:54.7.

Rounding out the top five were freshman Maria Carberry in 13th place in 22:30.2 and sophomore Alison Carson in 16th place 22:43.9.

Today's runners will return to action on Friday, Sept. 30 as they compete in the Notre Dame Invitational while a handful of DU runners will compete at St. Vincent, tomorrow, Saturday, Sept. 17.
