The Duquesne volleyball team opens up the 2016 schedule in Indianapolis, Ind. for the IUPUI Hampton Inn Invitational. The two-day tournament also features Central Michigan and Southern Illinois along with the host IUPUI.
ABOUT THE TEAMS
IUPUI is coming off a 21-10 record and a second place finish in the Summit League. This is the first match between the two schools since 1999. Southern Illinois were 23-10 (43 RPI) last season, finished in second place in the Missouri Valley Conference and received an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament. Duquesne defeated SIU in their only match in 2013.Central Michigan was 11-18 last year and finished fifth in the Mid-American Conference West Division. The teams have met twice with CMU winning in 1990 and Duquesne winning in 2013.
