Aug. 16, 2016 PITTSBURGH - Head men's basketball coach Jim Ferry announced today that rising sophomore guard Mar'Qywell Jackson will not return for the 2016-17 season.
"Mar'Qywell stepped away from the program late this summer to deal with some personal issues, and we fully supported him," said Ferry. "We continued to support him in his decision to transfer and wish he and his family the best of luck in the future."
Jackson averaged 3.7 points in 25 games off the bench for the Dukes in 2015-16. The 6-5 Detroit native, who began his college basketball career at UTEP, has signed an NJCAA letter-of-intent and plans to play at Moberly Area Community College in 2016-17.
