QUICK NOTES
• Duquesne (15-9, 5-6), coming off a 76-74 loss at Dayton on Tuesday, returns home to face UMass (10-13, 3-8) at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 14 (ASN) in the annual Chuck Cooper Classic. The game will also feature recognition of DU's 27-man All-Century Team in conjunction with the school's 100th season of basketball. Among those scheduled to appear (as of Friday) are: Bruce Atkins, Mike Barr, Moe Barr, Jarrett Durham, B.B. Flenory, Ron Guziak, Barry Nelson, Norm Nixon, Garry Nelson, Willie Somerset and Bill Zopf.

• DU is 10-2 at home with both losses coming in conference play (Dayton & Davidson). UMass is 2-6 on the road. Entering the weekend Duquesne's six conference losses have come to teams with a current RPI of 57 or better (the Dukes defeated current No. 37 St. Bonaventure).

• Duquesne is holding opponents to their lowest field goal percentage in 45 years (.403). The defensive field goal percentage is the best by a DU team since the 1970-71 NCAA Tournament team held opponents to .389. The Dukes have held 10 opponents under 40 percent this season. Only three teams - Pitt (.554), South Carolina State (.456) & VCU (.525) - have shot better than 45 percent against Duquesne this year. DU is limiting its A-10 opponents to .395 shooting.

SERIES QUICK NOTES
• This is the 64th game in a series that dates back to Jan. 11, 1975 ... Massachusetts leads the series 38-25. Duquesne holds a 14-13 advantage in games played at Pittsburgh.

• The series had been one of home court advantage until recently as UMass has won four of the past five in Pittsburgh, while Duquesne has won two of its past five at Amherst.

• Danny Nee's Dukes snapped a 16-game series losing streak (dating back to 1991) with a 78-69 win over the Minutemen on February 6, 2002 at the Palumbo Center. Since then, UMass has won 10 and Duquesne seven.

• The last meeting in Pittsburgh - a 78-74 UMass win - featured eight ties and 11 lead changes, before Trey Davis gave the Minutemen the lead for good on a 3-pointer with 1:43 left. Davis came off the bench to score 16 of his 20 points in the second half. Last year, Davis scored a game-high 26 in UMass' 82-74 win in Amherst.


ON THE MINUTEMEN
• UMass, which was picked to finish 10th in the A-10 preseason poll, is 2-6 on the road ... the Minutemen are coming off a 69-63 home win over VCU on Thursday ... Donte Clark (17.6 ppg., 53 3-pointers) and Trey Davis (18.8 ppg., 58 3-pointers) led UMass with 22 and 18 points respectively ... Jabari Hinds (12.9 pg.) added 18 off the bench ... UMass entered the game having lost eight of its previous nine games ... VCU had won 12 of 13.


LEFTOVERS FROM DAYTON
Leftovers from Duquesne's 76-74 loss at Dayton on Tuesday: Duquesne, which trailed for only 8:22 of the 40 minutes, led by 12 with 5:35 left before the Flyers closed the game with a 19-5 run ... the Dukes were behind by eight with 15:00 left before outscoring the Flyers 30-10 over a 9:10 span to take their 12-point lead ... DU's Micah Mason went 7-of-8 from 3-point in scoring a game-high 27 points ... the seven "3s" were a career high and one shy of the school record shared by three players ... Derrick Colter scored 19 of his 21 in the second half ... Darius Lewis pulled down a career-high 13 rebounds ... TySean Powell scored a season-high 12 points and added a career-high four assists off the bench for DU ... Duquesne shot 45.2 percent to 42.4 percent for Dayton ... the Dukes - led by Mason - went 11-of-25 from 3-point ... it was DU's second loss this year when hitting 10 or more from the arc (9-2) ... it was also Duquesne's first loss when leading with five minutes left this season (14-1).


TRENDING
• The Dukes have already eclipsed their highest win total under fourth-year head coach Jim Ferry (13-17 in 2013-14).

• The Dukes are looking for their 11th home win. DU's two home losses (10-2) are its fewest since 1981 (14-2). Duquesne has four home games remaining (including UMass).

• The Dukes lead the nation (through Feb. 12) in defensive rebounds per game (30.08).

• The Dukes have outrebounded 14 of 24 opponents and are 13-1 in those games. DU is 14-5 when scoring 70 or more, 9-2 when hitting 10 or more "3s", 14-1 when leading with 5:00 left and 12-1 when leading at the half.

• DU is holding opponents to their lowest shooting percentage in 45 years. The opponent .403 mark is the lowest since 1970-71 (.389).

Derrick Colter has scored 20 or more in Duquesne's past four games: 27 vs. La Salle, 23 at Saint Louis, 22 vs. Davidson & 21 at Dayton. Colter is averaging 17.5 ppg. in the second half during the streak, which is the longest since Ovie Soko scored 20 or more in five-straight games from 12/17/13 through 1/8/14.

Micah Mason, who has scored 20 or more in three-straight games, hit a career-high seven 3-pointers (7-of-8) on his way to a game-high 27 points at Dayton. The seven "3s" were one shy of the school record shared by three players.

TySean Powell came off the bench to score a season-high 12 points and hand out a career-best four assists in 25 minutes at Dayton. Powell is shooting .640 in A-10 play.

Darius Lewis grabbed a career-high 13 rebounds (11 defensive) at Dayton.
